The Hart Family
(My Mother's Family)
|
The Hart family is my Mother's family. It consisted of her
father, Edgar Hart, her mother, Edith May (Haines) Hart, her older
sister, Pearl Warner, and her younger sister, Mary Hart. My mother's
birth name was Edna May Hart, named after her father. I think this
turned out to be appropos, as I believe she was very much like him
in temperament.
I don't have a photo of all of them together. This one on the
left shows my mother on my grandfather's lap, and my Aunt Pearl in
front of my grandmother. My Aunt Mary was not born at this time.

Background of Edgar Hart: Edgar
was born in 1889 to Mary Catherine Schneider. Whether she was
married at the time seems to not be known. In 1890 she applied, as
Catherine Snyder, for a marriage license to George Pott, and her
future children are all named Potts. (The name seems to have
undergone a change from Pott to Potts sometime during George's
childhood.) More to come...
Background of Edith Haines:
Edith was born in Golden Colorado, the daughter of Frederick Haines
and Rose Ella (Rosa) Palmer. The Haines and Palmer families were
both early settlers of the Golden area.
