The good reverend
Stephen Bachiler has turned out to be my
favorite ancestor of this era. He was
obviously a man who made up his own mind
and wasn't afraid to stand up for his
convictions, even when it caused him
enormous personal hardship.
Rev. Bachiler is
credited with being the founder of
Hampton, N.H., and several of our
ancestors are also among its founding
families.
The following
information about Rev. Bachiler has been
gathered from many sources around the
internet, as well as from books and
other manuscripts. This information is
presented as an educational aid for
those wishing to study their own
genealogy or others interested for
personal or educational reasons, and in
particular is meant for the immediate
aid of my family, who wished to learn
more of their roots. Gathering it
together in one place makes this easier
for them.
Moreover, I have in the
past, when creating other web sites,
simply provided links to the material I
wished to present, only to have those
sources disappear from the web and the
information be lost. Not wanting that to
happen here, I decided to publish copies
of the material.
Most articles are,
therefore, presented here without
permission from the authors, some of
whom are most likely living. No
intention to violate copyright is
intended. In most cases, I simply do not
know how to get in touch with the authors,
and in some cases I have tried and
gotten no response. If any of this
material is yours and you object to it
being here, simply write to me and I
will remove it. If you wish to give me
explicit permission to display it here,
I would be most appreciative.
